The Power of Using KLOUT for Social Media: Interview with Miriam

   Miriam Slozberg, Author

So, Miriam, why did you write this book?

I wrote this ebook because the fact of the matter is, social media is extremely prevalent to the point that is it taking over not just traditional forms of advertising (radio, TV, print) but the first thing people do if they want to find out about you is to look at your social networks and activity.
If you say you are a professional in a particular field but yet there is nothing that you have done online that shows that, no one will take you seriously. The fact of the matter is, what you do online spills onto your offline world. That is how prevalent social media is.
See Miriam's book, The Secret to High Social Media Rankings How to Get KLOUT

Social media is a huge passion of mine and always has been. It took me a while to learn the proper methods of using it but once I learned, it helped me in so many ways that I wanted to help others as well. So I had written this ebook for partially that purpose but I wanted to also teach others how Klout comes into play, and what it is and the importance of it.

What is Klout?

Klout is a company based out of San Francisco that provides social media analytics to measure someone's influence across major social networks such as Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus and LinkedIn.

Klout measures your network size and more importantly how well others in your network respond to your output. Klout measures your engagement with others and if it is high, you are considered to be influential online.

Why is KLOUT an important tool for social media?

The reason Klout is important is because what you do online spills over to your offline world (I realize I had already said that so you can edit that out if you want) considering that social media is prevalent now and that will continue on. If you are in the marketing, social media, SEO, coaching, writing field or if you are a business owner and professionally working with the public, having a high Klout score is very important. This could be a huge determining factor on whether or not you are given to speaking and guest blogging opportunities.

If you are seeking a job in any of those fields, a big determining factor as well is your score in conjunction of your past experience. Having a high score can get you extra nice bonuses such as free hotel upgrades, meals, and other great free or discounted products. Not to mention if you are a business owner, in a matter of time, sooner rather than later, potential clients and customers will be looking at your scores (if they are not already) to see how engaging you truly are.

If you are a business owner especially in a field where any kind of marketing is involved and you have a low Klout score, it is an indication that you really are not engaging online which is what a client who wants to hire you is looking for. That alone could get them to search onward for a competitor who may be more active and engaging online.

Because social media is so prevalent now, people really need to know how to use social media in a proper way and understand effective methods that will encourage others in their networks to interact with them on a regular basis. I cover the basics of what needs to be done in order to be successful with social media which will increase anyone's Klout score.

Who is KLOUT going to benefit the most?

Anyone can benefit if they have a reason improve their social media online activities but it is essential for anyone in the marketing, SEO, social media (and many social media consultants are not getting this), coaching, writing, web design or any field where the public is dealt with on a professional basis. It is also a must read for business owners. Even if they don't have time to manage their own social media, if they hire a consultant or manager to take care of their social media, they will know what to look for in a good social media manager. I will continue on...

Is this your first book, Miriam?

No this is not my first book. I actually had written two other books in the New Age niche as I am also an astrologer but not practicing so much now since I am really focusing on my social media work. I did not do well selling those books initially anyway because the niche was too narrow and I did not use social media properly to really work it.

However since I learned plenty of tricks with social media along the way I have been more successful. However even though I love anything to do with astrology and spirituality, it is not my passion so much now. Social media is. I am also an owner of a business that provides SEO, social media, blogging services and mobile web design and marketing called Gemini Rising Ltd and that has been around since June 2011. Thanks, Miriam!

The All Powerful PLATFORM for Non-Fiction Writers

Do you have a platform? If you don't know what this is, or don't have one, don't even think about writing your book. This is the advice from publishing big-wigs like Arielle Ford. Of course, this isn't new, but it's now the MUST HAVE marketing for nearly any non-fiction writer who truly desires to make any money with his/her book. As most books don't sell many copies, authors are to rely on back-end deals like speaking engagements and selling other programs to truly rake in the cash. As a writer, the problem exists: Most writers who truly write are not really going to want to get up and speak in front of crowds and hawk their wares (books), right? So how to overcome this? For my money, I'm guessing teleseminars and maybe video seminars could work. Also, developing programs that are pricer that you can upsell to readers who enjoy your topics. In other words, don't be complacent and think as an author you're just going to write books and make m...

Everything You Should Know Publishing Package for Wanna Be Top Selling Authors

I got the package and I'm making my way through the videos. My thoughts thus far: 1. Lots of info! I got the Platinum package and so far I'm impressed with the amount of info. 2. As usual, there's sales info for other packages, but so far I've gotten a good amount just from this without buying more (which I'm not apt to do.) 3. Seriously, Mike Koenigs...don't give advice on dressing right now. Your way-too-big blue shirt didn't make you look like a pro; it just made you look silly. If this is the strategy behind "dressing for the everyman" that you take, it seems really, really dumbed down. I think we can all handle you in a well-fitting shirt. (See video #2 for this.) 4. On a good note, Mike: You're a good speaker and easy to listen to. I like the message. Goes double for Arielle. Wish I could still hire Arielle Ford as publicist (could I even afford her?). She knows the biz. Unfortunately (see previous posting), the biz changed...

Real Estate Marketing Tip: Who cares?

Realtors, the first thing most of us wonder when we see your ad is "Who cares?" Real estate agents are a dime a dozen, right? Sorry to be blunt and harsh, but you're not alone. Most of us think the same thing when we see anyone's ad who just says "Hey, I'm great and sell XYZ." So what? The trick to really getting someone to notice you and think you are the ONE to use is how much information you can help me with. For example, if you pay big money to run an ad somewhere, put something in it besides just your photo and phone number/contact and tag line. Tell me something of use . I will read your ad and possible you name and face will stick in my head. You're paying the money anyway...why not actually put it to good use and make us like and trust you as the expert?
